We estimate the whole home cost of our conceptual designs using a medium level of finishes commonly used in custom homes. If you select lower-end finishes, you can reduce the overall cost to build a little more.
We can modify any of our plans or create a custom home from scratch to work with your unique build location. See how we design homes for your lot.
Whole home cost savings from modifying an existing design will vary based on the extent of your changes. Keep in mind–we can modify any design, but there are a finite amount of changes we can make to affect the overall budget. Learn more about how we design to your budget.

Checking is a process during which the wood grain begins to separate while the timber is drying or experiences changes in moisture. It is important to note that checking occurs in all timbers and does not directly impact the strength or stability of your wood.
Free of heart timbers are cut without using any of the center (or heart) of the tree. Free of heart timbers are more stable and frequently feature very minimal checking or twisting resulting in a cleaner look for your wood.
Definitely! Riverbend is happy to work together with your existing designer or architect to complete your plans and integrate timber framing into your plans. Learn more about how we work with your plans.
