To Riverbend, your home is more than a structure. It is a source of artistic pride. Each one of our PerfectFit® plans and Signature plans are designed and built to provide you with a home of which can be proud for years to come. We accomplish this through the use of only the highest-grade materials and the best, most experienced people. While the timbers that create the frame of your home provide natural beauty and warmth, it’s up to the craftsman that cut and hone the timbers to showcase that beauty to its best advantage. Riverbend expects nothing less than quality craftsmanship in everything we do, so rest assured that we pay the utmost attention to it.
Building upon nearly half a century of timber frame industry leadership, we are melding traditional techniques of crafting timber frame homes with striking modern elements to create a living space that is both organic and vibrant. Every truss tells a story, each mortise and tenon connection has its own character, and metal accents–be they modern or rustic in look and feel–add a modern twist that is reflective of today’s trends. Through the tradition of timber framing, our homes exude the Artistry of Design.
We believe that the timbers in your home should be a signature element. Whether it is a complex truss system overhead or the space where a post meets the cross beam in your kitchen, each timber lends character to your home. That is why we design the post and beam configuration to complement the overall architectural style of your home. In addition, metal accents, in the form of braces and chords, are incorporated to add a unique flair to many of our designs.
The beauty of your timber frame home is a direct extension of the quality of the wood used and the precision of its manufacturing. At Riverbend, we can use Oak, free of heart center Douglas fir, or other species to create your signature home.
Oak is a dense hardwood that has been used in traditional timber frame homes for centuries. Its sheer strength enables builders to create more delicate connections. Additionally, many clients are looking for the character imparted by the knots and grain-figuring of oak.
With our years of experience, we have found that free of heart Douglas fir also provides our clients with the level of craftsmanship they demand. With its complex grain structure, Douglas fir is less prone to checking and twisting. Douglas fir is also strong, flexible, and available in a variety of sizes.
Every timber frame fabricated by Riverbend is created by artisans who have years of experience honing their craft. Combining our artisanship with modern manufacturing technology, they take pride in creating each timber – from bringing out the wood’s natural beauty to dry fitting the frame itself before it leaves our manufacturing facility. We invite you to watch a video on how we create the timber frame for your home.
Because we hold ourselves to an incredibly high standard, we only trust the best and most experienced people when it comes to the fabrication of your home. That is why everyone working on your home is part of our in-house team of experts.
We source our timbers directly from the mills to ensure we are getting the highest quality materials at the best price. Riverbend constructs your timber frame using free of heart center Douglas fir, Oak, or other wood species as our clients’ desire. No matter what wood species you select for your home, you can trust Riverbend’s craftsmanship to enhance the wood’s natural beauty and create an inviting warmth within your home.
We have two separate facilities in Michigan and Idaho where we fabricate the high-quality timbers for your home. Having a location in the East and one in the West allows us to cover all of North America and manufacture your timbers at the location closest to your build site.
