What started as a festive timber frame home Raising event during the snowy season in Alberta, is now nearing completion. Enjoy an inside look at a client’s Alberta timber home oasis beautifully nestled at the base of the Canadian Rockies.

The custom timber home is just outside Calgary on a large plot of land overlooking Alberta’s Canadian Rockies. With a footprint of over 10,000 liveable square feet, this astonishing home offers plenty of opportunities for breathtaking views. It also boasts amazing outdoor spaces. These outdoor spaces include a glass, accordion-style wall leading to a sun deck.
Inside the two-level home, the couple included specialty rooms like a wine cellar, fitness room, golf simulator, and theater. Additionally, the home offers a handful of guest suites, and three laundry rooms. One laundry room is conveniently located in the master suite. Another is a guest laundry, and yet one more is just for linens. With space aplenty, and the warmth of authentic timber framing, this couple’s home easily caters to groups of friends or family, whether large or small.
The interior of the couple’s home is comprised of traditional timber framing, Insulspan® Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), and Advantage® brand insulated concrete forms (ICFs). Because it is built in a colder region, utilizing energy efficient products like SIP walls and an ICF foundation ensures the timber home is capable of weathering the harsh Alberta winters.
