Timber Frame Barns and Barn Style Homes
When someone says 'timber framing' their first mental photograph is often of a big, beautiful barn. For centuries, timber framing has been a natural building choice for barns. It is strong, durable and provides lots of space for equipment, animals, feed or whatever you need to store.
Over the last 30 years, Riverbend has designed and built a variety of barns, as well as homes that were inspired from their unique look and feel.
Horse Barns and Other Working BarnsYou may live on a working property that was handed down to you by your grandparents or maybe you are creating a new legacy to hand down to your own children. When you choose to add a timber frame structure like a barn or horse arena to your property, you will be creating a memorable space that will stand for generations.
Non-Traditional BarnsEven if you don't have livestock a barn might be the perfect addition to your property. Instead of erecting a basic garage or metal storage unit, consider adding an outbuilding with more architectural flair. You could use the 2nd level for a guest room or recreational space for the kids, while you store 4-wheelers or your boat in the large bays below. A timber frame barn is a great way to add character and extra living space to your land.
Timber Barn-Style ArchitectureThere are a lot of people who love the look of an old timber barn and want to use the distinctive style to inspire their entire home. Riverbend has a couple of floor plan concepts that illustrate what that might look like, including the Lancaster design. If you are interested in creating a unique timber home design and would like to incorporate barn-style elements, Riverbend's architects can work with you to achieve your goals.
