From upstate locations to the bayous, Louisiana offers unique and beautiful places to build your custom timber home.
Featured Louisiana Locations
The look and feel of a traditional timber frame home fits right into the culture enriched communities found within the state of Louisiana. If you haven't yet decided where to build, here are some of our favorite locations.
Natchitoches
Life along lovely Cane River Lake – a loop left behind when the meandering Red River changed course – has a distinctly genteel quality. Build your timber home here and you’ll become a part of the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase.
Lake Charles
Lake Charles is a bustling city, partially due to its commercial port. Your Lake Charles timber home will be in good architectural company thanks to the city’s Historic Charpentier District.
Baton Rouge
Historic sites, cultural opportunities and nightlife abound in and around the state capital, Baton Rouge. You might choose to build your timber home in local communities such as St. Francisville or New Roads, or in the hills around Jackson and Clinton.
Lake Pontchartrain
Clear streams, piney woods and idyllic communities line the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Build your timber frame in this area and enjoy great fishing at Fairview-Riverside State Park, bike trips along the 31-mile-long Tammany Trace, and views of the lake. When you’ve exhausted the north shore activities, make a trip across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway to nearby New Orleans.
