House Beautiful Magazine - Riverbend Timber Framing and Insulspan awarded the grand prize for excellence in home design.

Blissfield, Michigan - Riverbend Timber Framing and Insulspan were awarded the grand prize for excellence in home design in the 1998 House Beautiful Home Building Design Competition. The award-winning 2,600 square foot home designed by Howard Holtzman, AIA is located in Sawyer, MI on Lake Michigan.

The home was built utilizing a combination of Insulspan structural insulated panels

provided by Insulspan and post and beam construction from Riverbend Timber Framing, also of Blissfield, MI. In addition to winning the grand prize, the home took first place in the category of Architect-Designed Homes.

The judges of the contest, comprised of several home building editors from Hearst Special Publications, selected Insulspan based on the overall design integrity and livability. Photographs of the winning houses will be featured in the fall/winter 1999 issue of House Beautiful Home Building magazine. The awards were presented at the Building Systems Council annual industry conference's award banquet at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.
