The first Celebration Idea house is being built in Menlo Park, Calif. A project through Sunset Magazine, this home showcases design innovations that create elegant indoor-outdoor living. The home made its debut at Sunset Magazine's 9th Annual Celebration weekend, May 20-21.
The Idea House team consisted of Seigel and Strain Architects, builder Calrum Homes, De Witt Residential Design & Interiors, Riverbend Timber Framing and Insulspan Structural Insulating Panels. Built on-site, the 2,400-square-foot home is constructed of Insulspan SIPS.
Their use met the needs and expectations of the project's requirements regarding factory-cut panels, with assembly, strength and energy-efficiency far surpassing stick-frame construction.
The modern home's flowing spaces spill onto decks or gardens from every room, celebrating the West's love of the outdoors.
